BCAA (branched amino acids) consists of L-isoleucine, L-leucine and L-valine. Our muscle tissue is made up of these essential amino acids up to 35%. BCAAs are different from other amino acids as they are absorbed directly into the muscle, and are not stored in the liver. When carbohydrate reserves are threatened, BCAAs are the primary source of energy because they can be rapidly decomposed and converted into energy. The formula is, next to the BCAA's, completed with L-arginine and L-ornithine.
