This is the most versatile jacket we've ever made. Usually, a jacket with zip-off sleeves is a compromise that's not particularly good at anything. That's because a jacket that becomes a vest is fundamentally flawed, and it's usually made worse by poor zipper construction. The Perfetto Convertible is nearly identical to Castelli's renowned Perfetto RoS 2 Jacket with allover wind protection, essentially waterproof rain protection, excellent breathability, and close-to-body fit. By adjusting the layers underneath this jacket, you can cover everything from mild conditions to cold days, whether sunny or wet. The sleeves zip off just above the elbow to make it nearly identical to Castelli's renowned Gabba — the pros' choice. On mild days, you'll leave home with the sleeves removed; in changing conditions you'll pull the compact sleeves off and stuff them in a pocket. Used this way, the Convertible is even better than a Gabba, thanks to the front zipped vents. If you're not sure whether to buy a Perfetto RoS 2 Jacket or Gabba RoS 2, then the Convertible is the way to go. Already have a Perfetto and a Gabba? You'll be surprised how convenient the Convertible is for mid-ride shedding of the sleeves, but it really shines for travel, when space is limited. Pack a Convertible and an Idro and you'll be perfectly prepared for everything.
